| dc.description | The present investigation was carried out in the country property the Future of property of Mr. Marcos Fuertes, located in canton Valencia to 1 km in the road to San Pablo The Ríos' county, in the geographical coordinates they are South latitude 1°, 25',0"; longitude West 79°, 25', 38.4", Altitude 90 msnm; the investigation lasted four months. The work consisted on determining the effects of the chemical fertilization in the cucumber production (Cucumis sativus L.) in the area of Valencia. The fertilizer sources were proven in the treatments T1 Blue Enrikecidas, T2 Yaramila, T3 special Nutrifares, T4 Witness (Urea) in dose of 350 kg/ha. A design of Complete Blocks was used at Random (DBCA) with 4 treatments and 4 repetitions. The results obtained in this investigation are The biggest height of plant 147.80 cm, l bigger number of flowers for plant 18.50, bigger number of fruits for plant 10.67, bigger longitude of fruit 19.91 cm, bigger diameter of fruit 5.02 cm, bigger weight of fruit 411.60 grams, bigger production for plant 4.40 kg/plants, bigger production for parcel 92.18 kg/parcel and, the biggest yield of fruit 58.520 kilos for hectare presents it the treatment T2 (Yaramila 350 kg/ha). The beginning of to flourish of the plants went to the 45 days after to sow. The beginning of the cucumber crop went to the 70 days after to sow. The biggest utility $2872.30 USD one has with the treatment T2 (Yaramila 350 kg/ha) that generates a relationship benefit/coast similar to 1.49. | dc.description.abstract | La presente investigación se realizó en la hacienda el Porvenir de propiedad del Sr. Marcos Fuertes, ubicada en el cantón Valencia a 1 km en la vía a San Pablo, provincia de Los Ríos, en las coordenadas geográficas son latitud Sur 1°, 25',0"; longitud Oeste 79°, 25', 38.4", Altitud 90 msnm; la investigación duró cuatro meses. El trabajo consistió en determinar los efectos de la fertilización química en la producción de pepino (Cucumis sativus L.) en la zona de Valencia. Se probaron las fuentes de fertilizante en los tratamientos T1 Enrikecidas Azul, T2 Yaramila, T3 Nutrifares especial, T4 Testigo (Urea) en dosis de 350 kg/ha. Se empleó un diseño de Bloques Completos al Azar (DBCA) con 4 tratamientos y 4 repeticiones. Los resultados obtenidos en esta investigación son: la mayor altura de planta 147.80 cm, l mayor número de flores por planta 18.50, mayor número de frutos por planta 10.67, mayor longitud de fruto 19.91 cm, mayor diámetro de fruto 5.02 cm, mayor peso de fruto 411.60 gramos, mayor producción por planta 4.40 kg/planta, mayor producción por parcela 92.18 kg/parcela y, el mayor rendimiento de fruto 58.520 kilos por hectárea la presenta el tratamiento T2 (Yaramila 350 kg/ha). El inicio de la floración de las plantas fue a los 45 días después de la siembra. El inicio de la cosecha de pepino fue a los 70 días después de la siembra. La mayor utilidad $ 2872.30 USD se tiene con el tratamiento T2 (Yaramila 350 kg/ha) que genera una relación beneficio/costo igual a 1.49.
