| dc.description | The following research work focuses on the evaluation of the mechanical and morphological properties of a biodegradable container made from residues of cocoa bark (Theobroma cacao) and rice husks (Oryza sativa). The importance of the use of agro-industrial waste in different processes to provide added value and contribute to the care of the environment is highlighted. The objectives of the research are focused on the evaluation of the morphological and mechanical properties of the biodegradable container, the formulation and the establishment of time and temperature parameters that allow obtaining the best treatment. The methodology used is based on an experimental design (A*B) divided into 3 blocks with 6 treatments, applying analysis based on morphological and mechanical properties (resistance, hardness, size, texture and color) obtaining results that were tabulated using of the Statgraphics software to evaluate the different study factors. The best treatment was determined on T1 (30% cocoa + 70% rice husk + 60°C at 24H) which presented values close to those in the literature and therefore it could be concluded that it was the treatment that presented the best characteristics in terms of to the mechanical and morphological properties. The results of this research are expected to be useful for the Ecuadorian industry and encourage research in more sustainable areas. | |
