Abstract
tilapia roja (Oreochromis mossambicus x Oreochromis niloticus).
T1=0 (control), T2=100, T3=200, T4=400, T5=800 y T6=1600 mg kg-1 de alimento. En
Description
The main objective of this research was the evaluation of the effect of ascorbic acid
(Vitamin C) in pelleted diet where the metabolic response of serum proteins, liver enzymes
and electrolytes in juvenile red tilapia (Oreochromis mossambicus x Oreochromis
niloticus) was studied. For which, 6 treatments with three repetitions were managed in a
Completely Random Design (DCA). Each of these treatments was distributed from an
experimental diet with different inclusion of Ascorbic Acid: T1=0 (control), T2=100,
T3=200, T4=400, T5=800 y T6=1600 mg kg-1 de alimento. Regarding the variables of
serum proteins, total proteins (Pt) presented a highly significant difference, with a greater
elevation in T0 and T5 with concentrations of 0% and 5% of ascorbic acid. For albumins
(Alb), a higher concentration was found in T1 and T5 with concentrations of 1 and 5% of
ascorbic acid in the diet, as for globulins, a higher elevation was found in T4 and T2, in the
same way the highest elevation for the albumin/globulin ratio was found in T2 and T4,
which, unlike total proteins, did not present statistical significance. In the enzymes,
phosphatase presented the highest value in T4 and T5, alanine aminotransferase (alt)
presented a higher concentration in T0 and T5, as well as aspartate aminotransferase (ast),
which also presented a higher concentration in the T5 and T0 treatments. where there was
statistical significance for these three variables. For electrolytes, there was a highly
significant difference for urea and calcium, unlike potassium, which did not present
statistical significance, where a higher concentration of urea was found for T1 and T4 with
a concentration of 1 and 4% ascorbic acid in the diet. in potassium there was a higher
elevation in T5 and T4 and there was a higher concentration of calcium in T5 and T2.
Mentioning these data we can express that the application of ascorbic acid in diet presents
statistical significance in serum proteins, liver enzymes and electrolytes in juvenile red
tilapia.
