Abstract
La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo general evaluar el incremento medio anual
en tres tratamientos diferentes con control de arvenses en plantaciones de G. arborea
Roxb. y T. grandis L.f. en las provincias de Los Ríos y Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas.
Se realizó el establecimiento de 24 unidades de muestreo de 3000 m2
con 3 subunidades de
1000 m
2
(31,62 m x 31,62 m) en el cuál se implementó el tratamiento (sin control) para
interactuar con los tratamientos empleados por la empresa (control mecánico y control
químico-mecánico). Se definió dos sitios de estudio (YuracYacu y La Palma) donde se
comparó los resultados obtenidos y se analizó la influencia de los tratamientos aplicados en
el crecimiento de las especies. En cada subunidad de muestreo se registraron datos de la
circunferencia medidos a 1,30 m de altura a partir de la base del árbol. Se registraron un
total de 2429 árboles en la primera medición y 1942 árboles en la segunda medición. El
análisis de varianza demostró que no existen diferencias significativas entre los
tratamientos evaluados en las plantaciones de melina y teca, mientras que las medias por
sitios de estudio y edades de las plantaciones presentaron diferencias significativas.
Asimismo, en la prueba de Tukey por separación de medias no existieron diferencias
significativas en los parámetros de IMA evaluados. Se acepta la hipótesis nula, afirmando
que la presencia de arvenses no expone diferencias significativas en los crecimientos
diamétricos entre los tratamientos evaluados en los sitios de estudio La Palma y
YuracYacu.

Description
The general objective of this investigation was to evaluate the average annual increase in
three different treatments with control of pits in plantations of G. arborea Roxb. and T.
grandis L.f. in the provinces of Los Ríos and Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas. It was
carried out the establishment of 24 sampling units of 3000 m2 with 3 subunits of 1000 m2
(31.62 m x 31.62 m) in which the treatment was implemented (without control) to interact
with the treatments used by the company (mechanical control and chemical-mechanical
control). Two study sites were defined (YuracYacu and La Palma) where the results
obtained were compared and the influence of the treatments applied on the growth of the
species was analyzed. In each sampling subunit, data of the circumference measured at
1.30 m height from the base of the tree were recorded. A total of 2429 trees were recorded
in the first measurement and 1942 trees in the second measurement. The analysis of
variance showed that there were no significant differences between the treatments
evaluated in the melina and teak plantations, while the means by study sites and plantation
ages showed significant differences. Likewise, in the Tukey test by separation of means,
there were no significant differences in the AMI parameters evaluated. The null hypothesis
is accepted, affirming that the presence of arvenses does not expose significant differences
in the diameters growths between the treatments evaluated in the study sites La Palma and
YuracYacu.
