| dc.description | The State Technical University Quevedo recently was the subject of the second evaluation carried out by Council Accreditation Evaluation and Quality Assurance of Higher Education (CEAACES)" what allowed us to be promoted to the category "C" to the category "B", with conditioning to improve the structure of certain strategic areas, including the transport unit. In this regard, this research work has as its main objective: to design a Strategic Plan to improve the operating performance and labor of the Transport Unit, by what was discussed and determined his current situation and the guidelines that must be planned and implemented to improve work performance, the quality of the service, in such a way as to encourage active participation of its staff for the scope of the goals set by the institution. The results reported that meet annually in a formal manner, the vehicles are the most commonly used buses and vans by the authorities, teachers and students and there is bureaucracy in the processing of request for the same. The drivers are doing excellent work of driving and attention to the user, maintaining an appropriate personal care and hygiene of the vehicle, punctuality, general knowledge, but lack of knowledge of English and availability of wanting to work. Its facilities and computer system does not provide facilities in the administrative process and there is delay in the delivery of the materials of work. To provide a better service, the staff require training in general culture, English, personal attention, more transport units and lead. The labor climate is regular, their work is not valued and their needs are considered from time to time. | dc.description.abstract | La Universidad Técnica Estatal de Quevedo recientemente fue objeto de la segunda evaluación realizada por Consejo de Evaluación Acreditación y Aseguramiento de la Calidad de la Educación Superior (CEAACES). Lo que permitió ser ascendida de la categoría “C” a la categoría “B”, con el condicionamiento de mejorar la estructura de ciertas áreas estratégicas, entre ellas, la Unidad de Transporte. En tal sentido el presente trabajo de investigación tiene como principal objetivo: Diseñar un Plan Estratégico para mejorar el desempeño laboral y operativo de la Unidad de Transporte, por lo que se analizó y determinó su situación actual y los lineamientos que deben planificarse y ejecutarse para mejorar el desempeño laboral, la calidad del servicio, de tal forma que se promueva una participación activa del su personal para el alcance de las metas establecidas por la institución. Los resultados reportaron que se reúnen anualmente de manera formal, los vehículos más utilizados son los buses y camionetas por las autoridades, docentes y estudiantes y existe burocracia en el trámite de solicitud de los mismos. Los conductores realizan un excelente trabajo de conducción y atención al usuario, mantienen un apropiado cuidado personal e higiene del vehículo, puntualidad, conocimientos de cultura general, pero carecen de conocimientos de inglés y disponibilidad de deseos de trabajar. Sus instalaciones y sistema informático no brindan facilidades en el proceso administrativo y existe retraso en la entrega de los materiales de trabajo. Para brindar un mejor servicio, el personal requiere capacitación en cultura general, inglés, atención personal, más unidades de transporte y conduzcan. El clima laboral es regular, su trabajo no es valorado y sus necesidades son consideradas de vez en cuando. Se propone un Plan Estratégico para corregir las debilidades y promover el desarrollo de las fortalezas existentes. | es_ES |
