In the program of cattle of milk of the State Technical University of Quevedo located in the 7.5 Km of track Quevedo - El Empalme, carried out the research. "Supplementation with Mulberry (Morus alba) and concentrated on Girolando calves under grazing" sp. A design completely at random (DCA) was used with four treatments and three repetitions, using a total of 12 Girolando calves and a weight average of 92.58 kg. Taking an animal as experimental unit.
The evaluated treatments were: T1 = grazing, T2 = grazing + Morera and T3 = grazing + concentrated. Evaluated productive parameters were: consumption of food, weight gain, feed conversion and economic analysis of the evaluated treatments. To analyze the total weight this gain have no statistical differences (P≤ 0.05) between treatments, finding treatment T2 = grazing + Mulberry with higher weight at the end of the investigation (51.49 kg animal day-1)
Daily weight gain, this presents no statistical differences (P≤ 0.05) between treatments, finding the best response in the Savoy grazing T2 + Mulberry with 0.466 kg animal day-1. As regards the consumption of total dry matter animal day-1 kg per treatment, these had a similar behavior (P≤ 0.05) in different periods analysed, finding values average of 3.43; 3.50 and 3.67 kg animal day-1 respectively.
In feed conversion met values mean for the different treatments of 10.23; 8.12 and 8.34. Being the best treatment T2 grazing + Morera (8.12). Economic analysis of different treatments reported higher adjusted gross income, net profit and benefit cost in the T2 (grazing + Morera) with USD 42.19 and 2.07 respectively.
