| dc.description | Subclinical mastitis has a very high cost in a dairy cattle herd, it has a significant impact on production, animal welfare and the quality of milk, this leads to large economic losses, either by discarding animals, veterinary services and treatments, obviously for the farmer, the economic impact of subclinical mastitis is not evident without an analysis of production losses over a long period of a year or more, which is why it is difficult to engage farmers in the decision to take preventive measures. control, is considered the most important disease facing the dairy industry worldwide and especially in regions with intensive dairy production. In the present investigation, the prevalence of subclinical mastitis (Streptococcus uberis) was determined using the Californian mastitis test, in the canton of El Empalme, we worked with 354 corresponding animals from different farms in the canton of El Empalme.
