| dc.description | The research project was carried out at the Pichilingue Tropical Experimental Station (EETP) of the National Agricultural Research Institute (INIAP), Mocache canton, Los Ríos province, the main objective of this study was to evaluate the richness of diversity of the forest "La Montaña”, By means of the Importance Value Index (IVI) and the Natural Regeneration Index (RN%), in three categories being low latizal, sapling and seedlings with their respective established parameters. The study of the species was carried out in three areas of the forest, Forest Without Intervention (BSI), Forest Little Intervened (BPI) and Forest Very Intervened (BMI). 19 random sampling units of 20x20 (400m2) were established, in each plot sub plots of, 5x5, 2x2 and 1x1 were made for each category and thus evaluate the proposed variables. The calculations were carried out with the proper collection of data such as common name, Diameter at Breast Height (DBH) and collection of samples for the proper identification of unidentified species in the field. The natural regeneration species, especially those that are located in the seedling category, which are the smallest, tend to be lost due to not having silvicultural management, therefore, most do not manage to survive. | dc.description.abstract | El proyecto de investigación se realizó en la Estación Experimental Tropical Pichilingue (EETP) del Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Agropecuarias (INIAP), cantón Mocache, provincia de Los Ríos, el objetivo principal de este estudio fue evaluar la riqueza de diversidad del bosque “La Montaña”, mediante el Índice de Valor de Importancia (IVI) y el índice de la Regeneración natural (RN%), en tres categorías siendo latizal bajo, brinzal y plántulas con sus respectivos parámetros establecidos. Él estudió de las especies se llevó a cabo en tres zonas del bosque, Bosque Sin Intervención (BSI), Bosque Poco Intervenido (BPI) y Bosque Muy Intervenido (BMI). Se establecieron 19 unidades de muestreo al azar de 20x20 (400m2 ), en cada parcela se hizo sub parcelas de, 5x5, 2x2 y 1x1 para cada categoría y así evaluar las variables propuestas. Los cálculos se los cumplió con la debida recolección de datos como nombre común, Diámetro a la Altura de Pecho (DAP) y recolección de muestras para la debida identificación de especies no identificadas en el campo. Las especies de regeneración de natural en especial las que están ubicadas en la categoría de plántulas, que son las de menor tamaño, tienden a perderse debido a no tener un manejo silvicultural, por lo tanto, la mayoría no logra sobrevivir.
