Abstract
El presente trabajo de investigación tuvo como propósito aplicar la normativa de seguridad industrial, proceso que está estructurado en un Plan de Seguridad que se propuso para los talleres de mecánica industrial de la Unidad Educativa “Siete de Octubre” del cantón de Quevedo, año 2014. Para determinar el problema existente primero se realizó una Evaluación de Riesgos para valorar la magnitud de los peligros que no hayan podido evitarse, obteniendo así la información necesaria para que el director tome una decisión apropiada sobre la necesidad de adoptar medidas preventivas. Del cual se obtuvo el resultado de que los alumnos de la Unidad Educativa “Siete de Octubre” no cumplen con las normas de seguridad establecidas para las tareas que se realizan en un taller industrial. De los cuales se determinó el inadecuado uso de las herramientas, poco interés en utilizar mandil, delantal de cuero, guantes cuando de utilizan el torno o la fresadora, verificar que el lente sea del grado correcto para soldar, al utilizar el esmeril y la pulidora el uso de gafas transparentes; y ausencia de señaléticas, entre otras, lo cual expone a los alumnos a accidentes laborales, riesgos en la salud, e incumplimiento de normas de seguridad. Con un Plan de Seguridad se logró que se cumpla con las normas de seguridad que permiten prevenir los posibles riesgos de la actividad laboral académica, atribuyendo a este proceso que mayoritariamente los usuarios son los estudiantes de la institución educativa, quienes desde el momento que se matriculan forman parte de la institución y ésta adquiere el compromiso y responsabilidad de cuidarlos y protegerlos, por lo que son ellos los primeros beneficiarios de ésta propuesta de investigación y adicionalmente la institución quien garantizará a la sociedad en general, así como a los padres de familia que confían en la formación que les brindan a sus hijos. Con este trabajo de investigación se logró mejorar las condiciones actuales del taller de mecánica industrial, se logró valorar los riesgos para priorizar los peligros, se estableció los procedimientos y documentos técnicos para el control de la seguridad industrial, también se desarrolló un plan de seguridad industrial y cumplir con las Normas OHSAS 18001 de seguridad industrial.

This research was aimed to apply the rules of industrial safety, process is structured in a Safety Plan that was proposed for the Industrial Mechanical Workshops of the Education Unit "Siete de Octubre" Canton de Quevedo, 2014. To determine the existing problem first, a risk assessment was conducted to assess the magnitude of the dangers that can not be avoided, thus obtaining the information necessary for the director to take an appropriate decision on the need for preventive measures. Which the result that students of the Educative Unit "Siete de Octubre" do not meet safety standards set for the tasks performed in an industrial workshop was obtained. Of which misuse of tools, little interest in using apron, leather apron, gloves was determined when using the lathe or milling machine, verify that the lens is the correct grade for welding, using an emery and polishing the use of transparent glasses; and lack of signage, among others, which exposes students to accidents, health risks, and breach of safety regulations. With a Safety Plan was achieved that meets safety standards that could prevent the possible risks of academic work activity, attributing this process users are mostly students from the school, who from the moment they enroll part of the institution and it acquires the commitment and responsibility to care for and protect them, so they are the first beneficiaries of this research proposal and further the institution who will guarantee the general public and to the parents who They rely on the training they provide to their children. With this research we were able to improve the current conditions of the workshop of industrial mechanics, it was possible to assess the risks to prioritize hazards, procedures and technical documents for control of industrial safety was established, a plan of industrial safety was also developed and comply with OHSAS 18001 industrial safety standards.
