Abstract
La presente investigación se realizó en la provincia del Guayas, cantón El Empalme, parroquia El Rosario, sector Pedro Vélez, situada entre las coordenadas geográficas 78º, 27', 31'' de longitud occidental y 01° de latitud Sur, a una altitud de 87 msnm en una finca perteneciente al Sr. Marcial Del Valle. El objetivo general fue evaluar el costo de establecimiento y el crecimiento inicial de en balsa Ochroma pyramidale (Cab. Ex. Lam) Urb. (balsa) en el cantón El Empalme, provincia del Guayas. Específicamente se buscó determinar el crecimiento y el porcentaje de sobrevivencia de Ochroma pyramidale (Cab. Ex. Lam) Urb. (balsa) y establecer el costo generado en la fase inicial de plantación. Se tomaron datos de los costos desde la preparación del terreno, plantado y el manejo inicial el cual implicaba control de insectos, plantas no deseadas y fertilización, también se realizaron tres parcelas de control de 500m2 las cuales eran evaluadoras una vez por mes, estas están de forma aleatoria para asi poder tomar los datos de diámetro, altura y porcentaje de sobrevivencia durante el primer año de vida de la plantación. Para la toma de datos se medía la circunferencia de la planta y la altura y el porcentaje se los consideraba con las plantas muertas versus las vivas. Las tomas de datos de las hacia una vez por mes durante 12 meses es decir el primer año que nuestra plantación. De manera general, se obtuvieron buenos resultados de crecimiento de altura y diámetro teniendo unos promedios de que van de acuerdo a la edad de la plantación. Sin embargo, si hubieron plantas que no sobrevivieron al trasplantado se asumió que pudo ser el estrés, pero el porcentaje de mortalidad no es elevado, en cuanto a los costos de establecimiento y manejo es considerado aceptable así los finqueros de esta zona del país pueden establecer sus plantaciones sin que tengan costos elevados.

This research was carried out in the Guayas province, El Empalme canton, El Rosario parish, Pedro Vélez sector, located between the geographical coordinates 78, 27 31 "of western longitude and 01" of south latitude, at an altitude of 87 meters above sea level in a farm belonging to Mr. Marcial Del Valle. The general objective was to evaluate the cost of establishment and the initial growth of the Ochroma pyamidale (Cab. Ex Lam) Urb. (Raft) in the El Empalme canton, Guayas province. Specifically, it was sought to determine the growth and survival percentage of Ochroma pyramidale (Cab. Ex Lam) Urb (raft) and establish the cost generated in the initial planting phase. Cost data were taken from the preparation of the land, planting and initial management which implied control of insects, unwanted plants and fertilization, three control plots of 500m were also made - which were evaluators once a month, these They are randomized in order to be able to take the data of diameter, height and percentage of survival during the first year of life of the plantation. For data collection, the circumference of the plant and the height were measured and the percentage was considered with the dead plants versus the live ones. The data collection of them was once a month for 12 months, that is, the first year that our plantation. In general, good height and diameter growth results were obtained, with averages that vary according to the age of the plantation. However, if there were plants that did not survive transplantation, it was assumed that it could be stress, but the mortality percentage is not high in terms of establishment and management costs, it is considered acceptable, so the farmers in this area of the country they can establish their plantations without incurring high costs.
