| dc.description | This investigation was carried out to control the incidence of hematophagous bats (Desmodus rotundus) in cattle in the "Peñafiel del Medio" enclosure and in the "El Ajizal" enclosure in the Mocache canton. The first method (t1) was based on the capture of bats identified as hematophagous and apply with a warfarin-based anticoagulant ointment on the back, in order to contaminate the colony by grooming, and the second method (t2) consisted of the anointing with This same Ointment, the surface of the wound that attacks the bats so that they become contaminated when feeding. The investigation begins with the search, detection, diagnosis and exploration of the bovine production sites that are affected geographically by the hematophagous bat, the cattlemen of the detected areas were consulted personally, and traveled through cellars, wooded areas and caves, La Presence of 5 species of bats among frugivores, insectivores, nectarivores and, finally, the common hematophagous bat (Desmodus rotundus). It was evidenced the poor state and the blood loss of the cattle attacked by the hematophagous nevertheless there was a high presence of bats frugivores and insectivores, causing confusion between the farmers who repeatedly carried out bad practices of extermination to species that were not harmful. The results showed that the treatment (t1) performed in the "El Ajizal" enclosure had a higher percentage of effectiveness than the treatment (t2), almost reducing the incidence in 1 month. | es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | Se realizó una investigación cuyo objetivo fue controlar la Incidencia del murciélago hematófago (Desmodus rotundus) en el ganado bovino en los recintos “Peñafiel del Medio” y “El Ajizal” del cantón Mocache. Se comparó la efectividad de dos tratamientos distintos, el primer método (t1) se basó en capturar a los murciélagos identificados como hematófagos y aplicarles con un ungüento anticoagulante a base de warfarina en el lomo, para que así contaminen a la colonia al asearse mutuamente, y el segundo método (t2) consistió en aplicar con este mismo ungüento, la superficie de la herida que atacan los murciélagos para que así se contaminen al alimentarse. La investigación inicia con la búsqueda, detección, diagnóstico y exploración de lugares de producción bovina que geográficamente se encuentren perjudicados por el murciélago hematófago, se consultó personalmente a los ganaderos de las zonas detectadas y se recorrió bodegas, zonas de bosque, y cuevas, confirmando así la presencia de 5 especies de murciélagos entre frugívoros, insectívoros, nectarívoros, y finalmente el murciélago hematófago común (Desmodus rotundus). Se evidenció el mal estado y la pérdida de sangre de los bovinos atacados por el hematófago no obstante existió una alta presencia de murciélagos frugívoros e insectívoros, causando confusión entre los ganaderos quienes en reiteradas ocasiones llevaban a cabo malas prácticas de exterminio a especies que no eran perjudiciales. Los resultados obtenidos demostraron que el tratamiento (t1) realizado en el recinto “El Ajizal”, tuvo un mayor porcentaje de efectividad, que el tratamiento (t2), disminuyendo casi por completo la incidencia en primer mes. | es_ES |
