Abstract
El gusano cogollero es considerada la principal plaga del maíz, ocasionando significativas pérdidas económicas cuando no es tratado a tiempo. El método de manejo usado por los agricultores es el químico, realizando pulverizaciones de insecticidas desde los siete días después de la emergencia de la planta, sin tomar en cuenta un nivel de daño que justifique un método de control.
Description
Fall armyworm is considered the main pest of corn, causing significant economic losses when it is not treated in time. The management method used by farmers is chemical, spraying insecticides from seven days after the emergence of the plant, without taking into account a level of damage that justifies a control method. Faced with this problem, an investigation was carried out with the objective of determining the levels of damage that Spodoptera frugiperda causes in the corn crop under experimental conditions.
