Abstract
El presente trabajo de investigación se desarrolló en el en la República del Ecuador, ubicada en la parte nor-occidental de América del sur tuvo como objetivo principal analizar la evolución del interés por mora en el sistema impositivo ecuatoriano de enero del 2003 a junio del 2011. Los resultados fueron los siguientes: el primer trimestre del 2008 se encontró el porcentaje más elevado de interés para el cálculo de las obligaciones tributarias atrasadas que equivale a 1,340 % y el más bajo en el primer trimestre del año 2005 con el 0,736%. La mayor variación correspondiente al segundo trimestre fue en el año 2008 con 1,304 % y la menor en el año 2006 con 0,816 %. El año 2008 se registra el porcentaje de interés más alto con 1.199 % y el más bajo en el año 2006 con 0.780 %. En el cuarto trimestre la mayor variación se dio en el 2008 con el 1,164% y el menor en el 2005 con 0,712 %. Con respecto a la variación trimestral del interés por mora, se establece que en el primer trimestre del año 2004 existió un decrecimiento del -20,2 % en proporción al primer trimestre del 2005; sin embargo en el año 2008 existió un aumento del 26,0 % todo esto en relación a la ley expedida en ese año con afinidad a la tributación, en el año 2005 existió un incremento del 10,8 % en lo referente al interés del segundo trimestre con relación al año anterior, además se indica que el más alto decrecimiento se aprecia en el 2003 con -7,5%. en el tercer trimestre de los años bajo estudio se aprecia un decrecimiento porcentual del interés por mora, tal es así que en el año 2008 disminuyó en 8,8% considerado el valor más bajo; a diferencia del 2009 que no existió variación (0,00%). se consolida la investigación estableciendo que el año con los intereses más bajos es el 2008, este fenómeno se da por que para este período se cambia el factor proporcional de cálculo de 1.1 a 1.5.

This research work was developed in the Republic of Ecuador, located in the northwestern part of South America's main objective was to analyze the evolution of interest for late tax system Ecuadorian January 2003 to June 2011.
