Abstract
Description
The investigation was carried out in the Experimental Property it Dams It property of the State Technical University of Quevedo (UTEQ) that is located in the Km. 7 ½ of the road Quevedo - San Carlos, enclosure Fayta, parish San Carlos, canton Quevedo, county of The Rivers. He/she has an extension of 90 there is and it is limited to the north with Mr. Marcelo Montecé's lot, to the east with the property of Mr. René Olvera, to the west with the Hacienda Alicia María and to the south with the Cooperative 20 of August and Hacienda Isabelita. Their geographical coordinates are of 1º03'18 south latitude, and 79º25'24 western longitude. He/she thought about the following specific objective, to Establish a collection of tropical medicinal species in the area of the canton Quevedo, county of The Rivers, as initial phase to the establishment of a bank of species and the specific ones: To establish a collection of 30 tropical medicinal species in the property Dams It"; to Classify taxonomic and botanically of the medicinal species settled down in the collection; To determine the use and importance of each one of the species according to the ancestral knowledge (peasant) based on respective technical and scientific publications and to Determine the prendiment, height and survival In the first three months thirty varieties of medicinal plants were used, corresponding to each treatment, three repetitions and ten experimental units for repetition. To the six months 28 varieties of medicinal plants were used (being excluded the Ortiguilla and the Rosa of dead, to be their short period of life), corresponding to each treatment, three repetitions and ten experimental units for repetition. In this investigation a design of blocks was applied at random (DBCA) with thirty and twenty eight treatments respectively and three repetitions, for the three six months of age. Each treatment had ten plants as experimental unit. The species that presented the biggest height (cm) to the three months of established (Tukey, P <0.05) they were the Mastrante with 91.43 cm, the Escancel with 79.93 cm, the Rosa of dead with 76.80 cm and the Verbena with 75.30 cm. The plants that were smaller in this phase of the investigation were Parsley (9.67 cm), Llantén (10.23 cm), You Chinese (10.30 cm), Chabela (14.73 cm), Santa María (16.02 cm), Sábila (17.07 cm), Rhubarb (17.40 cm) and the Verdolaga (18.53 cm). The entirety of the established plants fastened (100%), to exception of the common fern, which presented a percentage of prendiment of 93.33%. The percentage of survival for most of the species was of 100%, to exception of the Rhubarb (93.33%), the Grass of Fright and the Fern common with 96.67% and the Santa María with 76.67%. The plants that showed a bigger height were the Mastrante (141.87 cm), the Verbena (114.03 cm), the Basil (104.30 cm), the Leaf of air (97.90 cm), the Santa María (90.22 cm) and the Escancel (87.87 cm). The smallest plants to the six months were the Grass of fright (21.75 cm), the Parsley (24.04 cm), the Chinese Tea (25.03 cm), the Verdolaga (28.43 cm), the Balm-gentle (29.47 cm), the Culantro (30.27 cm), the Sábila (31.60 cm), the Mint (32.97 cm), and the Teatina 37.20 cm. The biggest percentage in the medicinal species presented 100% of survival. Nevertheless, the species that presented a smaller percentage of survival the Ginger 63.33%, Parsley 68.33%, Mentions 70.00%, Grass of fright 76.30%, Santa María 81.48%, Chabela 83.33%, Balm-gentle 83.33%, Fern common 88.89%, Llantén 90.00%, Paico 93.33% and the Rue common 96.67%.
