Abstract
El desarrollo del presente trabajo de investigación se lo realizó con el objeto de identificar los niveles de contaminación como también los agentes causantes del deterioro de la cuenca baja del Río Verde hasta su desembocadura en el océano Pacífico. Se realizó recorridos terrestres y vía fluvial para observar y registrar las principales actividades productivas que están impactando negativamente en esta parte de la cuenca hidrográfica, para esto se utilizó la matriz de Leopold. En el estudio se tomaron muestras de agua en tres puntos diferentes de la zona para realizar los respectivos análisis físico – químicos y microbiológicos, encontrando que los dos primeros cumplían con los estándares, mientras que en los análisis microbiológicos se encontró una elevada presencia de microrganismos como coliformes fecales y hongos en dos de los tres puntos muestreados, el tercer punto registra bajas concentraciones de los microrganismos antes mencionados y puede ser causa del elevado recambio de aguas causado por las mareas por estar en la desembocadura del río en el mar. Como resultado de la investigación se recomienda implementar un Plan de Manejo Ambiental al Municipio del cantón Rioverde que debe monitorear en conjunto con el Ministerio del Ambiente las afectaciones ambientales que causan as actividades económicas en el sector.
Description
The development of the present investigation was carried out with the objective of identifying the levels of contamination as well as the agents causing the deterioration of the lower basin of the Green River until its mouth in the Pacific Ocean. Land and river routes were used to observe and record the main productive activities that are negatively impacting this part of the river basin, for this the Leopold matrix was used. In the study water samples were taken at three different points in the area to perform the respective physical - chemical and microbiological analyzes, finding that the first two met the standards, while in microbiological analyzes a high presence of microorganisms was found Faecal coliforms and fungi at two of the three sampled points, the third point shows low concentrations of the aforementioned microorganisms and may be the cause of the high water exchange caused by the tides being at the mouth of the river at sea. As a result of the investigation it is recommended to implement an Environmental Management Plan to the Municipality of the canton Rioverde that must monitor jointly with the Ministry of the Environment the environmental effects that cause economic activities in the sector.
