Abstract
Description
The present document was elaborated on the basis of a scientific technical investigation carried out in the Napo and Pastaza provinces of the Ecuadorian Amazon, which sought to identify the forest composition of two secondary forest areas with a similar age of approximately 30 years and in Different altitudinal floors. In each of the farms, three replications were established under nested plot models, which allowed us to know the composition of the canopy, undergrowth, latizales and brinzales, which includes information on the regeneration potential of the forest. This methodology is based on what was proposed by Villavicencio and Valdez in 2003. In the one farm it was determined that in the middle and upper strata there are 11 families, 14 genera and 16 species, plus one species that could not be identified. While for regeneration of the same way for the farm one was determined that there are 28 species grouped in 27 genera and 19 families. On the other hand, in the middle and upper strata of farm 2, the existence of 17 families, 21 genera and 22 species were determined; In addition to this there are three species that were not identified but their abundance was quite low (one individual per species). In addition to the regeneration theme, 25 species were grouped into 24 genera of 18 families and there were 6 species that were not identified but in the same way with only one individual per species. Species that could not be directly identified in the field and observed a high population were herborized and transferred to the Amazonian State University herbarium for the taxonomic study and determination of the species to which it belonged. These samples at the moment rest in the above indicated herbarium. With the present study the respective growth curves were determined according to previously established diametric classes, results that allowed to know the structure of the forest in each one of the places of study.
