Abstract
El objetivo de la presente investigación fue evaluar la “Sobrevivencia de “Ochroma pyramidale” (balsa), al primer año de establecida la plantación dentro del programa de incentivos forestales para la reforestación en las provincias de Los Ríos y Esmeraldas”, durante los dos primeros años de ejecución del programa. La presente investigación se la realizo en diferentes predios de los cantones de las provincias de Los Ríos (Quevedo, Valencia, Mocache, Palenque) y Esmeraldas (Atacames, Eloy Alfaro, Esmeraldas, Muisne, Quininde, Rioverde y San Lorenzo), debido a sus condiciones climáticas para un buen crecimiento ya que tolera altitudes de 0 a 1000 msnm, precipitaciones entre 500 y 3000 mm y temperaturas entre 22 a 30 °C, además sus suelos prestan las condiciones necesarias y favorables para el establecimiento de balsa. La información se obtuvo previa al año de establecida la plantación, mediante una evaluación de sobrevivencia y mantenimiento al primer año, como método de evaluación se establecieron parcelas circulares para su muestreo de 250 a 500 m², dependiendo de la superficie a evaluar. La superficie neta plantada y registro de coordenadas UTM se realizó mediante el uso del GPS (Mobile mapper 20). Para el análisis de la sobrevivencia de las provincias investigadas Los Ríos y Esmeraldas se aplicó una prueba de t-Student, la cual demostró que no hay diferencia estadística significativa entre las dos provincias estudiadas. El análisis de caja y bigote determinó que los cantones de Los Ríos presentan mayor porcentaje de sobrevivencia en comparación a los cantones de la provincia de Esmeraldas, debido a que presenta mejores condiciones climáticas y de adaptabilidad de la especie en estudio.

The objective of the present investigation was to evaluate the "Survival of Ochroma pyramidale" (raft), the first year of establishing the plantation within the program of reforestation incentives in the provinces of Los Ríos and Esmeraldas, during the first two Years of program execution. The present investigation was carried out in different estates of the cantons of the provinces of Los Ríos (Quevedo, Valencia, Mocache, Palenque) and Esmeraldas (Atacames, Eloy Alfaro, Esmeraldas, Muisne, Quininde, Rioverde and San Lorenzo), due to their Climatic conditions for a good growth since it tolerates altitudes of 0 to 1000 msnm, precipitations between 500 and 3000 mm and temperatures between 22 to 30 ° C, in addition its soils provide the necessary and favorable conditions for the establishment of raft.
